Tonight, Tuesday November 10, the Southern Bronx River Watershed Alliance (SBRWA) is hosting a town hall meeting at The Point in Hunts Point on the competing plans for the future of the Sheridan Expressway. The public is invited to come and learn about the plans and give their input on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create new housing and open space in the South Bronx.

The New York State Department of Transportation is considering two alternatives for the highway: one, originally developed by South Bronx residents, removes the Sheridan and frees up 28 acres for affordable housing, parkland and mixed use development.  The second plan keeps the Sheridan and expands the interchange with the Bruckner.

A presentation on the projects will be followed by a question and answer period and small groups to discuss, explore and respond to project details.
