New Haven bicyclists — A proposal to create the city’s first contra-flow bike lane was unanimously approved by the New Haven Traffic Authority last week. The city also plans to install its first protected bike lanes on Long Wharf Drive and Brewery Street before the end of the year.
New York City bus riders –The first of the MTA’s new bus fleet rolled out in Queens yesterday. Another 68 new buses will hit the streets by this summer.
New York City bicyclists — The NYPD launched a week-long crackdown on drivers who endanger bicyclists by blocking bike lanes.

Queens Borough President Melinda Katz — After Mayor Bill de Blasio instructed DOT to move forward with a plan to install a protected bike lane on Queens Boulevard, BP Katz said the agency should delay the project.
New Jersey Governor Chris Christie — New Jersey is facing a $1.1 billion budget gap over the next two years. Governor Christie and lawmakers now have six weeks to fill this year’s $487 million shortfall before the end of this fiscal year.
