This Thursday, June 21, at 4pm, Nassau County’s Transit Advisory Committee will convene at NICE Bus’ headquarters, at 700 Commercial Avenue in Garden City, New York. The meeting was not announced on NICE’s website.
While the meeting’s agenda is not readily available, the body may discuss recent developments in NICE Bus’ Able-Ride paratransit division. Able-Ride’s performance was recently criticized in Newsday and is also being recorded on NICE Experiences, a rider-run blog that chronicles the trials of one paratransit customer.
The Transit Advisory Committee oversees the county’s bus system, which was taken over by Veolia Transportation on January 1, 2012.
