Last Thursday’s 20th Anniversary Benefit was a great success, with one of our largest guest lists to date. The event, which took place at Manhattan’s Top of the Garden, was a veritable “who’s who” of the transportation world, with New York City Transportation Commissioner Janette Sadik-Khan, NYC Transit President Carmen Bianco and New York Assemblymember James Brennan, among over 120 others from throughout the region, in attendance.
Founding board members Rich Kassel, Charlie Komanoff, James T.B. Tripp and Jeffrey Zupan were recognized for their leadership and service to Tri-State over the last two decades, as well as three New Jersey Complete Streets champions: New Jersey Department of Transportation Manager of the Bureau of Commuter and Mobility Strategies Sheree Davis; New Jersey AARP Governmental Affairs Manager Doug Johnston; and Patty Woodworth, owner of Action Wheels Bike Shop in Deptford.
Thanks to all who came out for the event, as well as Brooklyn Brewery for providing several cases of beer and SPCARBON Bicycles for donating a custom bike for our silent auction (congrats to top bidder Mike Pratt). An extra special thanks goes to this year’s sponsors: AARP-New York, AECOM, Amalgamated Transit Union, Amalgamated Transit Union( Local 256), BFJ Planning, CSX Transportation, General Contractors Association of New York, Gladstein, Neandross & Associates, Greater Jamaica Development Corporation, HAKS, Janine Bauer and Ed Lloyd, MBI Gluckshaw, Nelson/Nygaard, Suffolk Transportation Services Inc., and Ways & Means NY, LLP.
