It’s budget season so it’s time to make sure transit in New York State is a funding priority for elected officials. Join the New York State Transportation Equity Alliance (NYSTEA) in Albany, NY for its second Transportation Equity Conference on March 4 and 5. The Conference will be held at the Sign of the Tree at the Empire State Plaza and will feature panel discussions on topics such as:
- Job Creation through Investment in Transit
- Funding for Transportation
- Transportation and Climate Change
- Representation for Transit Riders on Transit Authority Boards
Monday, March 4 is Transit Awareness Day and NYSTEA has teamed up again with the New York Public Transit Association (NYPTA) for an Invest in Transit! Rally at noon (in the Well of the Legislative Office Building) to encourage transit agencies, advocates and citizens to join voices and deliver a unified message to state legislators of transit’s importance to the economy, people’s livelihoods and quality-of-life, and the environment.
The two-day event is a collaboration of NYSTEA (which TSTC is a steering committee member of) and NYPTA that will feature information sessions, panel discussions, and meetings with legislators and staff.
