New Jersey Future will hold its annual Redevelopment Forum, a major event for municipalities, developers and smart growth advocates, on Friday, March 1. The event will take place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel and Conference Center in New Brunswick from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A morning panel will discuss strategies to address New Jersey’s aging infrastructure. Facing Our Future, an independent, bipartisan project coordinated through the Council of New Jersey Grantmakers, will for the first time, publicly present its investigation into New Jersey’s transportation, water and energy infrastructure, highlighting critical gaps and needs. The keynote will be delivered by John Fregonese, President of Fregonese Associates.
Breakout sessions will cover a variety of topics ranging from climate change and rebuilding after Sandy to addressing the foreclosure crisis. In addition, there will be an on-the-street walking audit in which participants will take a walking tour of Downtown New Brunswick and learn about innovative ways to make streets more accommodating to all users.
