Public hearings on planned fare increases are happening in Connecticut, too.
Greater Bridgeport Transit has proposed raising the price of its 7-day, 31-day, and youth passes. Public hearings on the changes will take place on Sept. 29 and 30, from 7-8 pm at the Bridgeport Bus Station’s second floor community room on 710 Water Street.
ConnDOT and the MTA will hold a hearing on Sept. 29 from 6-9 pm at the Gen Re Auditorium at UConn-Stamford, and another one on Sept. 30 from 6-9 pm in ConnDOT’s Office of Rail Operations in New Haven’s Union Station (more information here). The hearings will address plans to reduce or eliminate the 4 percent discount for monthly Metro-North tickets sold with a MetroCard, reduced discounts for tickets bought online and by mail, and other changes.
