Along with an array of advocates, elected officials, and policy makers, the Tri-State Transportation Campaign will be participating in the Connecticut Housing Coalition’s annual conference, “Housing Now! Solutions Ready!” this Wednesday, October 15, at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. Senator Christopher Dodd and National Community Reinvestment Coalition CEO Jim Carr are the featured speakers.

TSTC will take part in a workshop called “Housing, Transportation and the Environment” (at 2:45pm, see the event brochure for more details) where participants will discuss how proximity to transit, smart growth, and affordable housing can be combined to cut emissions, relieve traffic, and promote sustainability. Other panelists include Al Martin, ConnDOT Deputy Commissioner, Amey Marrella, Deputy Commissioner, Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection, and Curt Johnson, Program Director at Connecticut Fund for the Environment. Discounts are available for those interested in attending only afternoon sessions.
