TSTC Staff Updates

Congratulations to TSTC staffer Veronica Vanterpool, who was recently promoted to the position of associate director. Veronica joined the Campaign a year ago to help win support for NYC’s congestion pricing program and throughout the year proved herself as a dynamic and vibrant advocate who cares deeply about the mission of TSTC. Veronica came to the Campaign after four years as a development officer at Rainforest Alliance, an international conservation organization that works to protect ecosystems and economic livelihoods in some of the world’s most biodiverse regions. She has also worked with NYC Dept. of Environmental Protection on its Waste Water Treatment Upgrade Program. Veronica holds a Masters in Environmental Policy from New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark, and a B.S. in Environmental Science and Political Science from SUNY-Binghamton in upstate New York.

TSTC is also lucky to have Michael Owen Benediktsson, a sociology Ph.D. candidate at Princeton University, as a volunteer this summer. Michael will be conducting research on the connection between pedestrian fatality rates and various sociological and environmental indicators, such as age, income, race, street design, and infrastructure spending. Welcome, Mike!
