We are excited to honor CTfastrak, Connecticut’s bus rapid transit system. CTfastrak boasts the region’s first true bus rapid transit corridor, a 9.4-mile bus-only guideway between Hartford and New Britain. Since it launched in March of 2015, CTfastrak has served more than four million riders, providing convenient and affordable transportation to jobs, schools, health care and local businesses. Plans are in the works to expand the system east of the Connecticut River, while momentum for transit-oriented development along the route is picking up steam.

This year’s honorees also include NJ Senators Loretta Weinberg and Bob Gordon, leaders on Port Authority reform; and AECOM, an innovator on major transit projects in New York and around the globe.
