Wednesday Winners (& Losers)

A weekly roundup of good deeds, missteps, heroic feats and epic failures in the tri-state region and beyond.

WINNERS

New Haven Director of Transportation, Traffic and Parking Doug Hausladen — New Haven installed its own GPS tracking system to downtown buses after the state’s plan fell months behind schedule.

Camden, NJ — The city received a $16.2 million TIGER grant to repair roads and improve biking and walking conditions near downtown Camden.

LOSERS

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, Senate President Stephen Sweeney and Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto — It’s been over three weeks since the state’s Transportation Trust Fund became insolvent, and these three are now even further from finding a solution.

New York City Police Commissioner Bill Bratton — How many more NYPD officers have to be involved in drunk driving incidents before Commissioner Bratton acknowledges that the department has a problem?
