Exploring the Potential for BRT & TOD

Tri-State has been pushing for transit on the new Tappan Zee Bridge since it was announced in 2008 that the current span would be replaced. Just as crews have made progress building the new bridge, so too have elected officials and advocates, forming a plan to guide the implementation of bus rapid transit (BRT) along the Interstate 287 corridor.

To help illustrate the impact this new transit corridor could have on the region, Tri-State has assembled a group of experts on bus rapid transit and transit-oriented development (TOD) to present on their work. Exploring the Potential for BRT & TOD in the I-287/TZB Corridor will take place on November 15 at from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Palisades Center in West Nyack, New York. The event is free but registration is required.

The agenda includes presentations from experts in Hartford, Newark, Bethesda, Maryland and Arlington, Virginia, as well as a keynote address from Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority CEO Joseph Calabrese on how the HealthLine BRT system transformed bus use and land development in Cleveland.

More information and registration information is available here.
