Tri-State a Winner of 2011 EPA Environmental Quality Award

Environmental Protection Agency seal

The Tri-State Transportation Campaign is proud and honored to accept a 2011 US EPA Environmental Quality Award for our work to promote sustainable transportation and land use policy in New York. According to the agency, the award is “the highest recognition presented to the public by EPA,” and is given to nonprofits, businesses, community groups, educators, and individual citizens who “have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to protecting and enhancing environmental quality and public health.”

We didn’t get into transportation advocacy for the glitz or the glamor – but recognition does feel nice! Many thanks to EPA’s Region 2 Administrator, Judith Enck, and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who nominated TSTC for the award. The 2011 winners will be publicly announced on April 29.
