Holiday Hiatus

Mobilizing the Region will be on break from December 24 through January 3 as we get on track for a tough year ahead.

In the meantime, we ask that you consider a year end gift to the Tri-State Transportation Campaign:

As a Mobilizing the Region reader, you know that 2010 has been a challenging year for transportation advocates. 90% of transit systems in the United States implemented service cuts or fare increases this past year and transportation funding crises loom large for 2011. TSTC has been busier than ever fighting to preserve transit funding, improve walking conditions on dangerous roads, and encourage balanced and innovative policies at transportation departments amidst changing leadership.

This means we have spent more time on the phone this year than any in recent memory communicating with elected and agency officials and colleagues throughout the region. But, our phone system is from an era when President Clinton was in office and before most people knew the word “internet.”

So, in lieu of a year-end general donation, we are asking for your help to raise $3,000 for a new phone system. We would like to hear less static and more information on our calls with key policy makers, leaders, and residents in the region! Please help us by making a donation.  Any amount will help reach our goal of $3,000.  Your gift will be directly used for this purpose.

MTR readers show their support in many ways.  Whether its via comments on our blog, petitions and emails sent via our e-advocacy campaigns, or by sharing our links and content with others, you’ve helped effect monumental change.  Please consider helping us make a small change by making a gift towards our new phone system!  It will really help us in the year ahead.

The staff of Tri-State Transportation Campaign sends warm wishes to our readers during the holiday season.  Thank you again for all your support.
