http://www.bikenewark.com/2009/06/top-large-cities-for-walking-more-than.html

Newark is far behind on this measure - why don't the candidates ever address Newark's problems more specifically?

PLEASE NOTE that no one of the candiadtes addressed a root issue - that a large portion of the TTF money is spent on projects and programs wholly unrelated to transportation and infrastructure. Eliminate the pork, and the TTF will be fully funded, stable and secure, WITHOUT any additional taxes.

Thanks for the comment. For this piece we profiled the candidates running in Tuesday's primary without making a judgment about who was a serious candidate, strictly for informational purposes. (And in restricting the article to those running in the primary, we excluded some arguably serious independents.) As you did, MTR readers can view the candidates' stances on transportation and their websites and can come to their own conclusions about which ones are serious.

Im voting Lonegan as well. This state is corrupt as they go.

Praying Lonegan will take this state back beginning with a (R) victory

Many of the projects in NJ meant for transportation are used for corruption. In Atlantic City they tear down and rebuild the bus station every few years to please the unions.

I am voting for Lonegan to put some common sense back into transportation projects.

Dear friends at MTR, please read Jeff Boss' website in full and ask yourselves if you believe he's a serious candidate for governor of NJ. I'll leave it up to you to decide.
