If CT were to do that, it would inevitably put pressure on Rhode Island to do the same, widening our section of I-95 is already on the wish-list, even if unaffordable for some time into the future. Rhode island needs to develop commuter rail south of Providence, and make transit investmetns in teh Providence metro area, but this may be harder to fund if we are pushed to widen I-95.
