Hudson Yards Update: Plans Would add 460-1,450 Parking Spaces

At the Cooper Union presentation of the five proposals to develop the Hudson Yards area, none of the developers mentioned anything about the number of parking spaces their plans would create in the area. However, Friends of the High Line and Manhattan’s Community Board 4 told MTR that CB4 and the Hudson Yards Community Advisory Committee had conducted a developer survey. Here are the number of proposed parking spaces each developer has proposed, according to CB4 and the HYCAC:

Brookfield: 1,425 spaces
Durst/Vornado: 700 spaces
Extell: 460 spaces
Tishman Speyer: 1,450 spaces
Related: 738 spaces

There are clearly large differences between the five proposals. For thorough coverage of the Hudson Yards process, visit Friends of the High Line’s recently launched Rail Yards Blog.
